Assemblyman Michael Benjamin
Assemblyman Michael Benjamin (D-Brooklyn Bronx) on the floor of the assembly just made the point that his apartment was robbed. For $80,000 a year, can't he get a apartment in a better neighborhood?

He's a Democrat from the Bronx. Represents Morrisania, Concourse Village, Tremont, and Crotona Park East neighborhoods. Few NYers, save Mayor Mike's wealthy friends, live in entirely crime-free communities.
The point I'm trying to make that getting paid $80,000 for a 6 month a year, 3 day a week job, he is like one of Mayor Mike's wealthy friends and could probably afford ADT or Slomin's home alarm.
I know he is no near as wealthy as Mayor Mike but he is no slouch either. The average income for a family in the five boroughs is around $50,000 a year, and he makes 60% more than the average family for less than half a year's worth of work.
